Tank was adopted from Triple R Horse Rescue by the McKee family.  He's the old man of the herd, at approximately 25.  Tank was surrendered to the rescue by his owner who was elderly and could no longer care for him.  Tank spent approximately 6 months at the rescue and participated in the summer kids camps.  He was given to a riding program for people with special needs who sadly returned him to the rescue.  Others visited and tried Tank out but people passed him over.  When they moved to the little ranch, the McKee's, who knew Tank from volunteering at the rescue, called to see if he was available.  The decision was made quickly to adopt him as they knew he was a sweet and gentle horse.  It took a short while for the family to realize that he simply did not like arena riding, the trail was his gig.  Tank still loved too go out on trail rides and was a registered therapy animal.  Tank and the boss trained for and passed their evaluation to become a registered pet therapy team through Pet Partners.  Tank and Alison are worked to establish relationships with facilities that benefit from Animal Assisted Activities and Animal Assisted Therapy.   To read more about pet assisted therapy, visit our Pet Therapy page.  Unfortunately, Tank left us in 2017 due to old age.  We miss him every day.
